I met Nick Hand at The Letterpress Collective today. This is a great print studio that teaches both type composition and printing skills and also engages with artists, writers and community projects in Bristol.

We discussed printing the reverse side of my postcards using Letterpress in their studio. There is the possibility of hiring an experienced printer to print the cards on a Heidelberg press. I am keen to print the cards myself and so we agreed I would come the the studio and use the Adana hand press. I also had a look at the different type available to use, including the type that was donated by M Shed.

Nick also recommended several printing companies that would be a good option for printing the image side of the card. Taylor Brothers is one of Bristols oldest printing companies, family run since the 1830’s. They have worked with arts organisations in the city perviously.
